General Rules:

  • BBQ RibsEntry fee per team is $75
  • Pre-registration is encouraged. One team members registers.
  • Teams will consist of no more than four (4)  people, with one member being designated as the Chief Cook.
  • The Chief Cook will be responsible for submitting the team entries at the time of judging.
  •  All teams compete under the same set of rules. Barbecue is defined as chicken or pork ribs prepared on wood, charcoal or gas. Both grilling and smoking methods may be used. No open pits or holes dug into the ground are permitted.
  • All competition meat is provided by High Lifter Products and its sponsors.
  • ALL COMPETITION MEAT PROVIDED TO THE TEAM MUST BE COOKED AND RETURNED TO THE DESIGNATED JUDGING AREA ON TIME OR THE TEAM WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE COMPETITION. 
  • BBQ may be prepared at the team's campsite and returned to the place of judging at the designated time.
  • The Chief Cook for each team will be required to sign for the meat when it is picked up.
  • Each team will be supplied with equal quantities of chicken and pork ribs to prepare for the completion. All meat must be picked up between 8 AM - 10 AM on Wednesday, March 28th, 2012 in the yellow covered barn behind the Arctic Cat display in the front vendor area of the park.
  • Teams may use spices or sauces on their meat entries but no additional ingredients such as bacon, jalapenos, cheese, etc.
  • Teams must turn in their entries in the yellow barn located behind the Arctic Cat display in the front vendor area between 5:45 PM - 6:00 PM on Wednesday, March 28th.
  • Entries must be submitted for judging in the containers provided. Teams must submit 3 identifiable portions of each meat in the small container provided and the remaining returned in the metal container provided.
  • Entries will be judged by a panel of judges from both the ATV industry and the Jacksonville area. Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be given at the Award Ceremony held Saturday evening at 7PM on the High Lifter stage in the front vendor area.
  • Decisions of the Judges are final and may make additional rules as the situation warrants. Interpretation of these rules will be at the sole discretion of High Lifter Products and the Judges.

After the judging is completed, all entries will be open to the public to sample.
